During 25 autopsies
of old people, the flowmetry of water under a constant pressure
of one meter allowed to compare the ostial stenoses of coeliac
trunk and mesenteric arteries.
The most frequent stenoses were those of the inferior mesenteric
artery. There was no correlation or compensation between
the three ostial stenoses.
Total obstruction of the three trunks could occur without
abdominal symptoms or loss of weight, thanks to supplying
by other arteries.
