In 69 patients
with digestive symptoms and 9 controls, the duodeno-gastric
reflux of bile was quantitated without intubation, using
an intravenous injection of 131-I-labelled rose Bengal,
one hour after a milk meal. The activity of the left subphrenic
area was counted with a gammacamera, the patient being moderately
tilted in the position of Trendelenburg. The result was
compared with the count in half-sitting position.
